Game will likely be a sales disappointment. How is it doing in terms of pre-orders(in Japan?)

I think this game looks fun, and has a chance of bringing in non-Nintendo fans, but I'd surprised if even became bigger then Yoshi Games.
Splatoon is basically a CoD clone, so I doubt it will generate that particular audience on Wii U...........
Sorry Rainy

In terms of being bigger obviously Zelda is Bigger the AC as a franchise as Zelda is a momentum changer and platform seller like Mario Kart and so on, AC has better sales but is not a platform seller as it's one of those games that sells to the userbase but not necessarily brings new people in.
In context of the thread I think he or she means life time sales.

I see tons of potential in Splatoon. And I have a feeling it'll be a commercial success. Outselling Zelda in future entries? We never know. |
Yes, it is. Hopefully franchises like AC go down together with handhelds. I wonder how many times they can rehash the same formula. Could be awhile looking at Pokémon.
But yes, Metroid would be bigger on other consoles. Because Nintendo only advertises their casual games.
I'm glad the AC developers are working on this instead of yet another AC rehash. Now get rid of HAL Laboratory Nintendo or let them make something else.
Anyway, Splatoon will fail because Nintendo won't advertise it. Just like any franchise they have that's remotely interesting. Only the cheapest of cheapest games to develop like Kirby and AC get games/advertisement.

Multiplayer, this is a big selling point in my opinion |
I still don't see this being a million seller anytime soon

Hype on the internet, which is completely misleading. Wait for real world sales before making judgements on how big it is/going to be.
For some reason I expect Splatoon to not sell well, unless it gets bundled with most WiiU's like Wii Sports was last gen
