It's a poor interpretation. I'm not pretending anything. Why would I know what rules can be changed? Maybe an option to turn off stat boosts on clothes. Maybe an option to switch from lives to stocks like in Smash. We barely know anything about this mode. The translator knows what was being asked. No amount of "lost in translation" is going to change an answer talking about rules and customization options to and answer talking about extra online modes. You're reaching for straws that aren't there.
