Forums - Sony - I downloaded MGS4 onto my PS3!!

For years people said this game would never come to the psn store. My ps3's disc drive broke so I can only play downloaded games.  I was shocked and delighted to see one of the best games ever made and one of my favourites up on the store! Anyone else notice this and would you download it?

I can't remember. It was either Peace Walker or Hot Shots Tennis but, even though I bought them digitally, I was still asked to install. Did MGS4 require you to install a game that was already installed?

That's a good question. I wanna know the answer too.

MGS4 is a great game, but it required a new installation for every sequence. It was boring to wait.

How could I forget this ?    Kojima at his best making jokes about his games in his own games.

Seriously, I can't believe it's been seven years already that MGS4 came out.  I still remember the hype and anticipation for it.

7th gen had its issues but it was fun.  Specially from 2007 to 2010.

agreed.  You just had to know which games/companies to avoid and you could basically have what you had before with better graphics and usually bigger too.  Holiday 2007 really started the gen for me with Uncharted and of course Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction which got me to buy a PS3 in the first place.

I think the trophy patch introduced the ability to install all the sequences at the start menu

At least for me, i played it this year and dont remember there being very long load times at all

Good question.  I've a big ps3 backlog and a few ps4 games I need to play more or complete first. Will be awhile.  But a guy in this thread said the trophy patch fixes it which is great news. There is the initial install like every game has but I dunno about the ingame installs. As i said read the guy above me.

Loved both of those.  Tools of destruction recently got added to the store but it's got no trophies.  Would love to get it again.
