My personal preferences prevent me from even considering WiiU as a choice. It has no games that interest me in the slightest, while on the other hand it doesn't have any games that I like to play (GTA, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Uncharted, Far Cry, FIFA, Madden, MLB, The Evil Within, Destiny, Dragon Age, Dying Light, The Order, Saints Row.....) I could go on for two pages.

Simply put, WiiU does not cater to the taste of a casual gamer like myself.

Yet why do people insist on buying the PS4/Xbone and not the Wii U? What is going on here? What can Nintendo do to bring these people over from the other camps?


because every game on the WiiU looks the same. On the PS4 i have mature games but i also can choose to play cartoony games like akiba strip, knack  or other anime style games.

The WiiU has clearly no balance, if nintendo would maybe make or fund more exclusive games with mature themes like bayonetta 2 or devils third i would consider but they dont.

Because XBOX ONE and PS4 are (in my opinion) superior consoles with broader appeal. Nintendo has niche games and mostly sell consoles due to brand and character loyalty.

Haha you're funny guy but I agree with you. Though for me the main reason to own a PS4 is God Of War IV.

People want CoD, GTA, Destiny, Need for Speed, Fifa. 3rd party games. That's why PS4 is selling even with few exclusives: they don't matter, they are just an extra. People want a box to play all games.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of exclusives have sales potential: Mario, Halo, GT, and many others. But people won't sacrifice their 3rd parties. Sony got the upper hand so many times because they understood that securing 3rd parties will get you the victory.

It's a matter of logic: everyone that does a game markets it. Sony uses their budget to advertise their games, Nintendo to advertise their games. But all 3rd parties are doing the same, and that means advertising a PS4 or X1 game that will move units. It's like we could sum up Sony/MS advertising budget with 3rd party ones. And when you have a GTA putting 150M+ on advertising and a Destiny franchise that has 500M of budget for the start of the series.



Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

Far Cry 4 is on PS3 as well. And better on PC.

and its not on WiiU. just because farcry is on PS3 and PC does not devalue its precense on PS4.

My question is instead, can someone actually own a Wii U and not a 2nd console? The amount of great games a Wii U exclusive owner is missing is just mind boggling. If you turn it the other way around there's only a couple of games a PS4 exclusive owner would be missing, that is if he/she was in any way interested in any of those games.
