i was pretty excited for splatoon, but if there is no in game chat it's going to take alot of wind out of it's sales (see what i did there {8D )

I didn't see what you did there, only seeing Nintendo's games still selling well without mid-game chat! I mean honestly I don't understand why people make such a big deal about it. Sure it's nice when playing with friends but against randoms hell no I'm turning that crap off!

... what i did there was "take alot of wind out of it's SALES" as opposed to "sails"  little play on words.  guess it wasn't as clever as i thought.  :(

ANYWAY, for games like mario, or smash in game chat's no big deal.  Would be alot of fun to trash talk or hear cries of blue shell agony.  But, when your playing a game that requires alot of team work, you really need to be able to communicate to our squad mates.  Otherwise, it might as well be one big free-for-all and playing on teams doesn't really add anything to the game.

Around the Network

Still kinda shocked that this was spun around to be negative somehow.

Oh I see it now lel.

For Splatoon specifically it only takes common sense for general tatics based on what your teammates are doing. For example at the start of the round it's probably a good idea to have one player cover the immediate area around your respawn with ink, establishing your base, while everyone else moves out. You only need one person to cover the base, so if you see someone already starting to do so, just go with the others to the front lines, or if no one is doing it, make your base yourself. Additionally you have a map on the gamepad screen giving you realtime info on turf and your teamate's positions. At anytime you can touch an ally's name and you'll super jump right to their position. This is especially useful for getting right back into the action after you've died.
