Well, I bought my PS1 in 2002, two years after the launch of the PS2. And my PS2 five months before the launch of the PS3. So you see, I don't tend to get consoles very early in their lifecycle. And with the current price of the PS3, and its "uncrackedness", it doesn't seem that the trend is going to turn around...
Bought a ps1 in 2002.
First, I haven't ever seen anyone with a DS in my country. EVER. There must be, of course, but they are the less. They're not as easy (and probably not as cheap) to get as a PS2
Second, why get a DS when I can play the games perfectly fine on my PC? Besides, it doesn't have as many games I want, I'd much rather get a PSP
For you maybe. For me, no. Crisis Core, Patapon, GoW:CoO, Me and My Katamari, Crush, both Star Oceans, MGS:PO, Jeanne D'Arc, LocoRoco and FFTactics WotL make me really want a PSP.
Of course, DS has Suikoden Tierkreis, though
