I would really like to know how much Wii sports actually sold.
Should vgchartz separate bundled and stand alone game sales? | |||
| Yes, in order to compare ... | 15 | 23.44% | |
| No, a bundled sale is still a sale. | 39 | 60.94% | |
| I don't care either way. | 7 | 10.94% | |
| Brack Friday Bunduru. | 3 | 4.69% | |
| Total: | 64 | ||

Or maybe people buy the bundle because it is a better deal.
No, VGChartz shouldn't bother. If at all, then only in rare cases where the game is very extensively bundled with a system or system peripheral such as Nintendo Land, Wii Sports and Kinect Sports. It still hardly matters though.

I think it's a combination of both typically.

You do realise Wii Sports sold the Wii right not the console sold the game?
Look at Wii U no attractive software to casuals and how it is selling in comparission

You honestly believe that myth. People say that since Wii Sports sold almost as much as the console. Consumers probably didn't even notice that they were getting the game with the Wii.

Nah, it'd probably still have sold 40m~ units without bundling. If we were pretending that all bundle sales were invalid though then yeah, it'd be royally f*cked :p

Pretty much this ^^^
I would rather they work to somehow have the numbers represent both physical and digital and show the difference between those.
It is near the end of the end....

What about when a console is only sold with one or different bundles? If I remember correctly when PS4 hit Japan you could only pick up a system that included Knack. And if my memory is still not further lacking I think the same deal was with Ninteno, they had Wii Sports only bundles, WW, for a long time. And then the Wii Sports bundle became their basic system-thing when they released other bundles.
So to get on topic, yes it would be nice to see a chart that would divide it up, but it's not really necessary at the same time. And I think it would be much more difficult to estimate the exact number of bundled games and not, so in the end it would just be guestimates.
And most systems have at least one game bundled, or some other stuff. I think the basic-systems sell far less than what the bundled ones do. Especially further into the generation. At the beginning perhaps some people pick up the "naked" system to save a few bucks, but further into the generation bundles get more sales. I could be wrong though. Myself I have never bought a system that was not bundled with a game.
