Forums - Nintendo - Gamepad Connection Issues

So I have a problem. Recently, my Gamepad has started to "lose connection" with my Wii U even when I'm only sitting like 10 feet away. It's honestly starting to annoy me and my warranty just ended a month ago so I really don't want to have to pay upwards of $90 just to fix something that I didn't break.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you fix it and how?

Hmm, not sure about that. Maybe theres some sort of a wireless interference?

That's what I'm assuming. But there's also the fact that if I put my hand over the sensor on the Gamepad, it instantly loses connection. I'm not sure why this is an issue when before, I could have a blanket completely covering it and the connection would not falter.

Hmm, I say try moving it to another room just to see if the issue still exists. If it does, call Nintendo to get an estimate cause if its just the receiver, it shouldn't cost much to replace if it does come to that. Also, check the wiiu console itself to make sure it doesn't have like massive amounts of dust all over its receiver

Yeah, I'll try experimenting with it tomorrow. I'm afraid that if I try anything else now I'll end up throwing the Gamepad against the wall, lol. Thankfully I have a pro controller so I can still Smash.

Loll, I can successfully confirm that throwing stuff against the wall fixes 99% of the worlds problems! (not)

Good luck though, let us know how it turns out

And people wonder why we want a padless Wii U. jk, okay, sort of, not really.

But man, that must suck, hope you get this issue sorted out.

I'm now filled with determination.

Update: So I experimented with a few things. First, I tried resyncing the gamepad to my Wii U (for the billionth time). Long story short: didn't change anything. I then tried unplugging and replugging: still didn't do anything. As a last ditch effort, I thought I would move the console to the original place I had it and have it standing up. This fixed the issue. There's still unique circumstances in which the connection drags a bit, but it's not nearly as common now and I can even cover the gamepad with a pillow or blanket and it still connects to the console, unlike before.

This seems to be an issue with the architecture and placement of things in my room rather than an issue with the hardware. Regardless, I'm glad it's resolved and happy I didn't have to fork over some cash for it to be normal again.

I can't bring my pad any further than 15 feet away from the console. And even when I'm about 10 feet away I lose connection during game sometimes. It has to be some sort of interference, but it's a little annoying honestly.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
