Well I think we've probably hit the halfway point in the lifespan of the WiiU.  As always, it's safe to assume that Nintendo is hard at work deciding the path they will take for the next half  decade.  So what would you like to see feature-wise in Nintendo's next system.  This isn't about securing third parties or moneyhatting exclusives, or even about their ability to market. Purely I'd like to see this discussion based in terms of innovations and refinements within the product itself.

I'll start off this discussion by giving a few of my opinions:

• Multiple Gamepads: Yes...I want the gamepad to stay.  I think it's the coolest feature of this generation.  I've been playing Unepic on the gamepad these last few days and the controller really makes all that inventory quite manageable, believe it or not. But I would like to see Nintendo support 2, and preferably 4 gamepads this next generation.  I think we all can agree that the biggest letdown of this console was that the unique controller would only be playable by one person.
• Better Gamepad Range:  I'm not asking for the ability to leave my house...but I'd really like to be able to go anywhere within a standard 1,500-2,000 sq ft house and not lose signal.  I'm not sure what needs to happen to make this a reality, but can't tehre be an external signal transmitter that we could plug into a wall socket?
• Backwards Compatibility: Wii through Nintendo Next! I think hoping for GC compatibility is too much to ask for...but since all the controllers from the Wii on will use blue tooth, tis should be a no brainer, regardless of the drive Nintendo goes with this next generation.

I want a friends notification system
and voice chat with stranger and with friends any time

I want it to be a standard console with no gimmicks. Let it be third party friendly in every way possible! Make it x86, make it be close to the ps5/x2 and offer it at a lower price to the consumers! Also have a great yet standard controller with the 80 hour battery and triggers that don't suck.

But, with that being said, keep the gamepad as an optional accessory! Nintendo has created miiverse and there are some truly awesome art on there so do not get rid of that cause miiverse really makes Nintendo's online community quite unique and creative (with the exception of the Nazi mods).

And also, keep the online free. Please, keep it free! Make it better but please go Steam's route and let it be free! Please oh please, keep it free cause I do not want to buy MK9 or MK10 and have the online be stuck behind this nonsense, mandatory paywall

Also, try to keep Backwards compatibility. Find a way to Emulate wiiU games and I do think its possible even with a different architecture if they try hard enough and if its powerful enough! I think if their next console is close to the ps5/x2, the jump will be great enough to make it work. And, that way, you can also sell your gamepad accessory that I mentioned pretty well cause certain wiiU games will need the gamepad to work to maybe have like a symbol somewhere that says it

And finally, do not fuck up the name and do not fuck up the launch and do not fuck up the marketing. Call it Nintendo Revolution or something awesome and advertise it like a whore advertising her sexy body

-Being able to read DVDs. At this point, the technology for that has to be cheap and easy to do.
-A bigger inner memory. 32 gb are going to be ridiculous entering the next gen. At least 200-300 gb minimum.
-Stop multiplying the controllers: there's the GamePad, the Wiimote and nunchuck, the classic controller wii, the pro controller wiiu, the GC adaptor... I'm not saying that they should stop supporting them, but they might prefer making only one controller and sticking with it.

i hope for Nintendo's sake they don't take your first two suggestions seriously.

And an achievement system wouldn't kill them.

I know...and I'm worried that Nintendo will feel the same way.  But man...when you've created a masterpiece you need to ride that horse off into the sunset!

Pretty much this and also a better, more unified account/online system between their future console and handheld would be very nice.

Just do everything the other 2 are doing but 7 years later. Basically the WiiU strategy.

Yes!!! And it would be good if you can also watch it on the gamepad! And if there will be multiple gamepads, it would be cool if it allows you to watch the same movie on all of the 4 gamepads =D
