The PS4 is gonna at least get the japanese home console market out of its recession, with the help of a massive new Level 5/Japan Studios IP, a FF XV that is going to reignite the series and DQ XI. B.E.L.I.E.V.E.

sorry dernebel but not even that will not help

we need a phone like handheld

or a console that actually has japanese centric games at its launch(wii u and ps4 had like nonthing except mh 3 and mgs gz)

Ah babababababa

There just needs to be that one game that 10 million japanese kids and gamers want to play on PS4 and everything should be fine. :P

But the market isn't just about Nintendo's handhelds. The userbase they had with the DS didn't disappear, they just starting spending money on mobile gaming. That's the handheld market becoming less popular (it's even more lopsided when you consider the massive 60-70% drop for Sony's handheld).

I think we are going to disagree on the topic. In my view, last gen was a blimp on the radar (much like the Wii was) capturing a lot of non-gamers and grandma's. I  agree that mobile has taken those consumers away, but the market has returned back to normal levels, much like how nintendo's home console market share has returned to normal after the Wii.

Sure when you compare it to the enormous height of the DS. The 3DS has already surpassed the GBA, as far as i see it, the market has normalized for Nintendo

Looking at VGChartz numbers, the GB sold 31,301,489 in Japan.

Maybe you should read my comment again

A fraction of those grandmas still bought the 3DS.

I guess it's a possibilty, but I don't think so at the moment. The PS4 game they want to announce at E3 will be a new IP I'm almost sure.

True. The same is true for dedicated handhelds. Japan just loves mobile gaming!

I agree. It's fucking abysmal. I blame Sony, Nintendo, SE and Capcom.

I think FF, KH, Bloodborne, Persona and Disgaea will boost ps4 sells in 2015
