This isn't what the current conversation is about btw. You avoided the point.

Hey, man. It's bundled with every console so you have no choice but to own it, just like Wii Sports was. So, clearly, it was the motivation for buying the console (as opposed to, you know, buying a console because you know games will come to it in the future because console ownership is an investment). I mean, sure, there will be tons of other games to persuade you to get a PS4 2 or 3 years down the line, but those don't matter. The Playroom will still be the game that makes you buy a PS4, and without it, none of those other games matter (Wii Sports was bundled for like 3 years, yet you guys are still saying it is the reason people bought a Wii and they otherwise wouldn't have bought a Wii without that game. Never for Smash, MK, Mario, or the Wii's library in general. Just Wii Sports). Don't try and knock the game because it's "sold" 18.5 million so far and is only gonna go up from here. |
You aren't considering all the new gamers who bought the wii.

The game didn't sell. The console did. The game was just given away as the system was purchased.
Super mario bros ----Nes
GTA V ----- PS4, PS3, X360, Xbox One and Pc
and wii sports?
Wait, isn't The Playroom considered a game? If so, that will be the best-selling (console game) of all-time on 4-5 years. :p

That's why only revenue should matter at this point. And with its $60 price point GTAV made a lot more money than Minecraft's $6-$20. Because might as well consider Angry Birds if you are to consider Minecraft :/ |
If revenue is the criteria for best selling than World of Warcraft is the best selling game ever. It has made much more money than Grand Theft Auto 5. Though I still think total sales gives a better picture for best selling even if those copies aren't all $60. I would understand free games not counting but in the long run Grand Theft Auto 5 will eventually sell for $5 and it will still never outsell minecraft. Its about how many people are willing to pay money to play a game. Whether the person spends $20 on minecraft or $500 on world of warcraft isn't super relevent towards a game's popularity.
if you exclude wii sports, you should exclude GTAV too, it was bundled with both ps3 and ps4.
Since we're including full mass bundling, doesn't that make singstar one of the most successful console titles ever created? :p The PlayRoom will likely take the all time top spot eventually too.
I remember the lineups for GTAV. Only time I went for a midnight launch for a game lol.

You are still avoiding the point. Go back to what we were saying before.
