With.

Because someday it will have a perfect human body, be capable of seducing me, and never get old.

I'm against AI that can learn on their own.  They wouldn't have the same restrictions that humans have.

Don't mix up your EGO with your SELF.

Your ego might be threatened by something outsmarting you.

Your self just laughs about that.

...what?

I want to see some cool stuff and I will be dead before they rise up anyway so bring it on!

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Being as though we would have to program it, we could probably save ourselves a lot of trouble by creating none malevolent AI. As a hobby I like to program and the first thing you realize when iterating through code is that it does exactly what you tell it to.

As long as we don't program it to destroy us all or enslave us we should be safe. The problem is the programmer, not the program. Always.

You guys watch to much sci fi. I'm 100% for AI.

Even if there was the potential for it to bite us in the ass, that won't happen for years. The world's smartest computer AI right now has an IQ comparable to a roach. Like, the insect.

We're a long ways off from any robot revolution.

H.A.L., is that you?

I'm with it as long as it is controllable, because the benefits are very well existing.

We will all long be dead, but if AI keeps on progressing and research won't stop at some point (it won't), humanity will lose to AI.
Humans think too high of themselves if they believe that they can control something that is mightier than themselves just because they made it.

end. definitely.

Though it could never be "alive"......unless uses biological components so more like a stupid cyborg.

Depends how you define "alive". Who would relate to more; a naturally born person who is now brain dead and being kept alive by machines, or a synthetically created AI person with the exact same emotional, learning and comprehension capabilities of yourself?

Of course, that's not an issue we're likely to face in our lifetimes. Creating a "perfect" human AI would require some pretty major technological breakthrough.

With, because there isn't enough natural intelligence in the world

Our own stupidity is the only real issue we will face with an AI.

As you say though, it's really not an issue we need to think about right now (or even soon). Not only are our most advanced AI's pretty dumb in the grand scheme of things, they're also incredibly limited. They can analyse certain types of data like nobodies business, but have the actual comprehension skill of a brick.
