Just because a game is big and succesful doesn't automatically mean it's overhyped. 

People know what they can expect from games like BloodBorne, Uncharted 4, Halo 5, Assassins Creed, Zelda  and CoD.

My vote is on No Man's Sky, just because it gets so much praise while we know very little about it.

Shocked at the people saying The Order though. Never thought overhyped games would see articles telling you not to preorder it and almost a years worth of negative articles for the most part.

I think The Order is one of those games that is currently being singled out by the media and put in a very bad light. It is very far from overhyped, which would need to involve not just forums goers but the mass media as well, ala TitanFall and Destiny. The Order does not have the media on it's side. The media almost seems dead set against it.

Halo 5 and Uncharted 4
Both have the largest fanbases capable of disappointing.
Everything else is new.
Although witcher has a pretty huge following as well, and those witcher fans sure are elitist.

Some places have turned their opinion though. Game informer, IGN, Gametrailers...all positive after PSX.

I personally view overhype as a game that doesn't meet expectations based on the hype behind it. For example Destiny was predicted to have a metascore in the high 80s to low 90s, but it ended up with a 76. Thus, it was overhyped; the final product didn't live up to the expectations it had.

That's a hard comparison as it looks like it may end up as game of the year.

There was a lot of initial counter-opinion at launch, a lot of people wanted it to fail...but it's still growing at a good clip and is surprising a lot of people who actually think it's a 76. Personally, I haven't played it, and it doesn't seem my style...but I could be wrong because I'm listening to the nay-sayers as well. It's not until the past couple days where destiny on social media seems to be growing larger and more positive.
