Forums - Gaming - Questions about No Mans Sky

i think the greatest draw to no mans sky is the ability to explore the universe and having an interstellar journy. but that raises the question about what types of things we will see that really exist in space.

ill start off with the more reasonable questions

1- will every planet be a "modified earth". by modified earth, i mean will every planet have similar charastricts to earth? water, solid land, the same atmosphere? will every planet feel like its "almost the same"? in reality there are planets that are just water, frozen planets, scolding hot planets, gas planets (for obvious reasons this would be useless gameplay wise). could we see a huge canyon like on mars? or is everything gonna be "earth like" for the most part?

2- will planets, moon and stars be stationary, or will they have orbits? will planets orbit stars? with there be moons to orbit planets? will the stars orbit the black hole we are supposed to reach?

or willl every planet stay in its same location, while nothing really orbits anything? also is there any word on planets having any moons?

3- if there is or no orbiting. will there be a day/night cycle? will all planets be lit all over its surface, or can i explore the dark side as well?

4- can there be a planet with two suns? this is actually a reality and accurs in our universe. planets with two suns in its horizon, could we see such a thing in No Mans Sky?

Those are some interesting questions about it. I hope that the release some more info on it. I think the world's have night and day cycles. I'm curious if it's a online only game or not. The recent outages got me thinking about that with this game.

I should hope no man's sky has such features, Noctis has all of these though its scale and ambition aren't quite on the same level.

Same here. After the latest PSN meltdown, this game got pushed way down on my list. It has lots of great stuff, but always online is a huge turnoff. If it happens to require PS+, it's a dealbreaker.

From what we have seen it looks far from scientifically accurate, especially the distance between planets.
What I'm more concern about is what will we have to do in this game and what is the story?!

I wouldn't want this game as always online. If it is, I'll pass. I just want a space game that actually incorporates space and the land part seamlessly. Not dumb loading screens.

from what i understand it is. because once you discover something its uploaded to their server and stored.

that wouldnt make sense at all to make accurate. but its not about being scientifically accurate, its about incoprirating the wonders of the universe into the game. a planet with two suns for example would be awesome to play on.

No. It's not uploaded to any server. The planets are never "saved". It's just that each planet has it's own seed, and everytime your PS4 has to render a planet, the same seed gives the same planet.

My main question so far has been with all these planets and all this stuff to explore what do you actually DO in the game? But I'll admit I haven't looked into the game much beyond the trailers that pop up at events. It looks really really rad though.
