Forums - Nintendo - Zack & Wiki levels

Not sure if this has been done already, but there were multiple ones for Super Mario Galaxy so I decided Zack & Wiki deserved one too.

There will likely be SPOILERS in this so for anyone who has not at least completed the main levels or hasn't got the game, it might be best not to read it.

What is your favourite level/puzzle in Zack & Wiki?

May as well ask this too:
What was the most frustrating puzzle?

--------

Mine would be;

Favourite - "The Painted Secret" which had you prodding and brushing various paintings on the wall, I particularly liked using the tap on the painting of a fish.

Other great ones would be "Mad Science" and the one on the plane which I think was "Operation Takeback"

Most Frustrating - The hardest of the ice area ones (I forget the name), for which you needed to use about 6 different tools to cut down the ice spike above the chest... I couldn't figure out how to get to the second goon for ages because I always picked up the ice that falls when you hammer the platform above.

-------

I am currently working through getting the rest of the chests, I can't believe how obscure some of them are: like putting all the lion things into the soup for one of the early levels

Also, they just released a playable flash demo so those who haven't bought the game can see what the gameplay is like:

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Funniest one:

The hardest of the ice area ones for which you needed to use about 6 different tools to cut down the ice spike above the chest.

Also, the Ice boss.

And Mad Science, that simply rocked!

Those were three of the hardest, and the only ones I really became stuck at.

Worst: The painted secret and the boss where you meet the guy (spoilerless) in the tower.

I didn't like TPS because the logic wasn't logical. It also scared me a bit :/

The tower boss, because you didn't think as much. At the end where you rode that cart from the ghosts was very fun though :)

I really liked the game, but the ending was horrible. From here on and out it is doomed to be spoiled so don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

It was pure luck that Wiki came back to Zack, so what is really the moral? If you go search for treasure (try to accomplish something difficult) you lose your best friend. I mean, come on!

The plot was also very predictable.

Wow, I sounded harsh there, but I really love the game.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

I carried the frog bomb all the way over to knock the second goon unconscious. I loved that level BTW.

Favorite level: The next to last level (I think) were Barbaros takes your precious Wiki, and you have to work your way through that fortress. Shear genius that level!

Least favorite: The one with the big fish (at first anyway) because I had a hard time figuring out the whole fishing thing. I swear I would jerk back on the wii-mote hard enough to put a whole through space and matter but nothing was happening. I found that short rapid jerky motions back and forth are the way to go) After I knew that the level was enjoyable to me. Oh and BTW I finally got the fish in on the first try for a whopping 50,000 points.

Other favorite levels: really all of them, I just enjoyed this game so much!!!!!!

Levels I got stuck on: The one with the dragon, the fish one, the one with the big monkey/lion thing guarding the treasure, mad science; also on the very last level I could not figure out how to work the anchor, that was the only level that I had to go on-line to get help for.

i have been playing for a while now, and though i started off poorly (to difficult for my wee brain), i am starting to get into the groove of things now. The more i play it, the more i love it.
I thought i was quite far already, but i have not come across any of the levels mentioned above yet. Maybe the best is still to come!!!

There seemed to be a good number of ways to do that level... after the third time I considered just hitting the forzen chest with the hamme but I decided it would be more worthwhile to figure out what is meant to be done.

I didn't think of bombing him because I didn't realise you could put the snake though the hole to scare the frog, until much later... but then I realised he would get trapped if I left the ice thing there.

---------

The only two movements I had trouble with were the fishing and the anchor throwing.... but I think it actually uses the IR pointer (as well as motion sensing) to determine it, so for fishing you have to point on screen, and if you move up so that you are no longer pointing on screen, then back down again etc.
Similarly with the anchor, I would be swinging it round and round and casting it for nothing to happen, but again it seems you have to point at the screen for it to work rather than just throwing thw remote.

The one bit I had to go online for help was the boss battle against the three iron maiden things (I hadn't noticed the flashing eyes) as well as the final battle for the bit where you have to shoot the goons into the four holes.

Where about's are you? There are 5 "areas" as well as two levels that go between areas. The areas are: Jungle area, Ice area, Fire area. Then a plane level, then the castle area, then a boat level, and finally Barbaros Land.

But once you have finished all the areas there are still more chests to find.

Edit. That isn't really much of a spoiler but I blocked it out anyway.

BUMP

Where is the Z & W LOVE???

Come on people, post your favorite and most frustrating levels and more!

I would say the second to last level would be my favorite, but I hate the terrible and unavoidable sword fighting, so I'm going with the Kraken battle. Felt like a mostly ideal mixture of a puzzle point and click and actual action filled battle.

For me the most frustrating stage was the final boss. There's so many in outs to learn about the controls and you've still got the puzzle elements to contend with all with your health that doubles as a time limit. I had to die like twenty something times to figure out each step, which is really annoying because the tasks themselves aren't hard, I can even beat without getting hit easily, it's just of a matter of knowing what you're suppose to do, which I had to find otu one life at a time. =P

I didn't think the final battle was that bad... I died twice trying to fight the crocodiles with my hand, then once trying to swing the anchor, and a final time because I just kept firing the goons at the hat (I eventually went online to find I was supposed to aim into the rocket holes)
