Also I'm fairly sure there's usually more space between something like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and Pokemon Emerald (and equivalents for other gens)... looking at that example in particular it was close to 2 years between R/S and Emerald in Japan, and even if you want to look at Fire Red and Leaf Green it was over a year between RS and FR/LG. It feels like barely 6 months between Youkai Watch 2 and 2.5.
