I got a ps4 and hardware wise it is lovely. It's whisper silent and the design looks great except that I didn't know where the power button is. It is.. However the worst console I've ever had (I don't have an Xbox one at the moment. But I have a wiiu and love it)
It's not about the mandatory update since wiiu also had a SUPER long update and it was stupid. The ps4 one is super fast, I have the destiny edition (doubt I'll play the game but I bought it because it looked nice)
The menu is pretty stupid. It's not something I'd see on a console. The games you played on disk for some reason stay at the start menu the vita has this same issue. You don't know if it's an install data or a downloadable game.
Where is the "play while it downloads" feature? I wanted to play any game at all but I was just looking at downloads the whole time aside from playing driveclub (which is crap by the way) I have singstar downloaded it's the same thing as the ps3 app which is nice. And then i realized something.... WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE Ps1 GAMES?!? WHERE THE FUCK IS THE "DOWNLOAD HISTORY" thing? I wanted to download suikoden and I wanted to see where all my stuff are. There isnt any so I'm just stuck playing generic overpriced shit like far cry and just wait for bloodborne to release. It is honestly the worst console I ever bought and I bought the freaking 3DO at least that one had road rush and need for speed.
I know i'm supposed to play ps4 games on ps4 but jeez it seems they released the consoles way too early and were just playing the waiting game. Everything seems to be unpolished, generic and extremely overpriced. And you can't even play your past games. no! you'd better use Playstation Now! (which is a huge scam at its current state.)
Honestly if you're on the edge of buying a PS4, forget it. Wait about three years at least from now. The PS4 is horrible at the moment. Not even bloodborne is going to be worth buying this whole console. |
Speak for yourself. The PS4 is the best console I have ever owned and I'm gaming since the Amstrad 646 and Commador 64 days since they were my first gaming machines. at 4 years old. I'm 29 now. Just because you think it's horrible doesn't mean it is. Playstation now isn't a scam but it is way to overpriced but guess what, it's your choice about choosing to use the service. I won't use the service because if I want to play any games on it I'll just power up my PS3 and insert game there.
There is a play as you download feature, however you still need to download like 10 percent of a game before you can start playing and then the rest of the game downloads and installs without you even noticing.
Also who wants to play PS1 games on a PS4. If all I was interested in was playing PS1 games I would have bought a Vita or PSP slim.

With the title I undestand you jumped out of your chair but if you read it you will understand OP's point of view and realize that he got a very valid oppinion (base on his expectations/experience) and wanted to just share it and no, he is not calling the PS4 a crap.

I don't know if you are aware but this threads been here for a couple of days. I read the OP when it was posted and read some of the comments and decided, yes, this is just an excuse to call the PS4 crap.

Many of his points aren't really valid since they are based on misinformation. Will be interesting to see if he comments on some of the corrections or if he just prefers holding on to his current agenda.

Nah Flower was ported to PS4. Same as Sound Shapes/TLoU/GTAV etc.

The guy just gave his oppinion based on his experience. Now if saying anything negative about the PS4 = crap to you, then yes. Looks like it is what it is.
I personnaly understand his point of view (I do not own a PS4) and what he says based on his expectations make sense I mean. And no I do not see this as "just a thread calling the PS4 crap". (just sharing my oppinion like you did :))

Maybe, after all we are always perceiving things based on our own experience / understanding / knowledge. So the OP may be wrong or right about several things, but it does not make this thread an "excuse to call the PS4 crap".
