Here we go with the spin, MSFT had 1 NPD victory in 12 months, accept it. |
Did I deny it?

Spencer must have had a serious talk with Greenberg.

It's high but not that bad considering how high the figures are in the first place. WiiU being overtracked 140k when it was at 240k is much worse % wise.

I'd assume that PS4 is fairly spot on, while the X1 is a bit overtracked? Not sure. |
Both overtracked.
PS4 by about 250k
X1 by about 200-230k
So it looks like SOny will have a 500k lead by the end 2014 and after their second Xmas. That's an incredible turnaround from the PS3/360 gen.
On a negative note, the Wii U numbers just get worse and worse. I wonder if the next Wii will be announced at E3 next year or the one after.

I agree. MS pulled out all the stops this Nov and Dec. I think XBO will probably be on top again in Dec, but by a smaller gap. However, the higher ups and investors are not going to allow the Xbox division to continue to pour money into making sure that the XBO is always $50 cheaper, with 2-3 high profile games thrown in, all year long. Just like the 360 before it, the price cut will probably just be temporary like they said. It'll kinda be like last gen with the 360 and PS3, where PS3 made a built a big gap up for the first 10 months, for MS to greatly chip away at it during the holidays. Of course, back then that was WW, where now it's only US and UK. |
I would say MS will try and keep that $50 gap for as long as they can. Shareholders at MS don't like losers, but when they hear the X1 is beating the PS4 for no.1 in the US, I think they will give it more leeway. Especially since Windows Phone and Surface are unlikely to be market leaders any time soon, this is a nice feather in MS' cap.

Gotta spin x1 good numbers somehow huh?
Praise the One.
LOL, Cboat banned for 5 months. Hmm, just in time for E3....
LOL, neogaf mods aren't fooling anybody. Well anyone smart at least.

Someone on gf said that gamecube was ~2 million ahead of wiiU at the same timeframe.

Sony hasn't made a move because there is no need. They're doing fine right now, and they haven't even begun to do anything. No price cuts and no big hitters (sellers). 2015 will be a stronger year, but I imagine 2016 being where they truly hit their stride (as historically is the case with PlayStation machines - the 3rd year). |
2016 - The Year Of The ($299) PS4. Look out.
