Nintendo has a lot of great music. You can't deny this. Unfortunately, Nintendo is only making money off a tiny fraction of this music (on an accessible storefront, at least).

Now, Nintendo also has a problem regarding the snail's pace at which titles are dripping out for the Wii U - and we've had a slowdown in titles for the 3DS as well.

The key here to partially solving both problems is exploiting one key niche that Nintendo hasn't fulfilled for a while. It's reviving (or expanding) their music-based franchises. Rhythm Heaven, Osu/Elite Beat Agents, and Harmoknight.

(DeDeDe Drum Dash technically counts as a rhythm game, but it's a minigame in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and is a worse deal than Harmoknight, apparently...)

You'll have to take Game Freak away from Pokemon for Harmoknight (which is great because we've had Pokemon nearly annually for some time now, why not look into possible spin-offs, hmm?), and iNiS (Osu dev) has last developed a game on Nintendo platforms seven years ago (they develop smartphone RPGs now), and Nintendo SPD Group 1 may be relegated to Tomodachi Collection now that it's proven to be a success...

However, I believe that this will be beneficial to the bottom line of Nintendo in the long run.

You can shoot a stone?

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

i like some music games.
i would buy a zelda rithmtheatre. but not an harmoknight.
i would like too if a mario paint composer comes with mario maker, so that we can make the songs of the stages.

I do think a Nintendo rhythm game including their rich catalogue, and with DLC to further mine their music history, would be a cool idea.

But maybe not Harmoknight based....

It should be based on Captain Falcon. We already know that F Zero has the most bitching music in vidya games, and from the other thread that fans are crying out, crying out, for an F Zero spin off. And that they want to incorporate the F Zero and Metroid universes.

We also know that DJ Hero flopped, and flopped hard, but it had some ideas....

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you: Captain Falcon vs DJ Jazzy Aran; SPIN OFF!

Captain Falcon and Samus Aran team up, not to chase down bounties, but to spin decks. In Mute City's classiest drinking establishments, scratch, spin and play classic Nintendo tracks to get the room pumping. Featuring Tricky the Dinosaur.

Well they tried with Wii Music. That was a bad idea. What else can they do since GH and RB are pretty much dead/ignored. Everything else might be too niche to work.
