Basically I have 12 more days until I have to submit my preliminary title for my dissertation. I have been thinking about this…

“How 3D television technology works, how it will be integrated and will it catch on?”

Basically I will be looking at 3D television/head tracking (think Johnny Chung Lees Wii remote head tracking) and exploring about how it works and whether Television shows could be created for it. I will also explore how it would be integrated into users homes (making the big switch from 2D to 3D), what would be the implications in doing this and attempt to predict a possible outcome for this technology.

This is just an idea at the moment, but I think that this would be a good idea to develop. I have done some research and there is no problem with content.

Seriously I would appreciate any input, if you have any.

You should make it about a new form of television "Interactive Television" and what you talked about. Because is sound like your trying to say TV is headed toward 3d. Which there are plenty of arguments against. Other wise I think it could be good.

1. Why would that happen when head tracking can only allow one person to use it.
2. We've had 3d movie for awhile and they aren't that popular compared to tradional movies.
3. Why wouldn't this stay in video games and not transfer over to TV.

Anyways on topic, it depends if your focus will be on perceptual aspects of 3D television, or the technical properties. As a general theme, it is more of an investigation I guess, but that depends what it is for. It might pass as a bachelor thesis, but unless you really want to explore it I doubt it could be a phd subject

Well I'm doing a bachelors (BHc) so I guess it's OK, it's not set in stone yet.
I'm in 2nd year, but I have to come up with my dissertation proposal this year, so I am thinking about it now so I can achieve a good grade for it.
