Well regarding how it was advertised, I read that in this topic. Not based on my memory. |
So, you want to pinpoint every small difference with each case to prove that they are not the same.
Ok, congratulation. You are right no case is equal to the other in the minor details.
The "spirit" is the same thought. The business model and objetics are the same or similar.
And back to your "sold vastly more on one platform" conundrum. It past sales in a past generation don´t matter that much to developers. Brand loyaty is a thing that only matter here and other sub foruns. Companies are interested in future sales and future market.
Or , would you say Square was stupid to make Final Fantasy 7 a PS1 exclusive as the previous games had a vast Nintendo history?
Or do you think Rockstar lost money with GTA 4 and 5 on the Xboxes because Vice City and GTA-3 performed on the PS2?
And so on...
Another thing, don´t go to eager using VGChartz numbers to base your assumptions. 50% more as I remember was only for TR DE in january NPD, thanks to the framegate. We don´t know how much money Square gain with each platform. We know that they where not very satisfied with the numbers in general.
