Forums - Gaming - I cant make a decision on a PS3, Wii, or 360!!!! @_@

Okay, I can only speak for the ones I've owned (Wii and 360, but 360 to a much greater extent). It really depends on what kind of games you like, and the games you indicated that a 360 would be best for you. IMO, you shouldn't "wait till Christmas to see which ones the winner in sales". IMO, out of any other generation, the loser is going to have great titles, so it really all depends on what kind of gamer you are. DONT listen to the people that are saying "OMGZ the 360 is buggy!". I've owned one since launch. I have 30,000 gamerpoints on my card, and probably over 2000 hours logged onto my X360. Yes, for the record it finally died about a month ago, but MS fixed it for free, and took like...2 days to fix it. Its a fantastic system. Just get whatever system is most compatible with your gamer styles. IMO, if you really are a shooter kind of person, the 360 fits you to a tee, but it has tons of other games for you. I'm an RPG gamer, and I'm very happy with the lineup this year for games.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

If you like sports and shooters, the 360 is the console for you. It has a bunch of both.

Buy a Wii and a Xbox360, its the same price as a PS

BUZZZ!! Wrong! X-box 360 Premium = $399 + Wii $250 = $649
PS3 = $599  To say otherwise is FUD at its finest.  Don't try to say "Its only $50 more!"  Yes you get two consoles but its not for the price of one (PS3).  To give my opinion I think that you should get a 360 now and if you want to play Mario or Zelda you can get a Wii later its cheaper.  If you don't want Mario or Zelda you could save up for a PS3 if you are interested in FFXIII or Metal Gear Solid 4.   The price for the PS3 could be lower by that time anyway.  Don't buy into the FUD that you'll see MAJOR Exclusives going to the Wii, its just not going to happen.  The control scheme can only take it so far.  My best friend has a PS2 and he is exactly the people that the Wii is targeting but he has no interest in it (even though he should according to Nintendo and its fans).  He is not interested in it because the graphics are not next gen.  He only has a standard definition TV so "graphics shouldn't matter" to him.  But anyway I guess some one will put me in place as I have made a negative comment about the Wii ;)  Kidding :)

If you could somehow get your hands on a Wii, I would say buy a Wii and give it a test spin. If you didn't like it, you could sell it on ebay for more than you bought it for. Right now, the Wii and the PS3 are still in their infancy. If you want good gaming right now, this instant, 360 is the best option. If you can wait, keep your eyes on all 3. They will be getting some great games come this fall.

I have all three and would easily pick the Wii every time. I also have a 50" HD LCD so i get see the PS3 and 360 at there best. Dreamcasted? Just check out the weekly sales rate on this sight Wii sales more WW than the 360/PS3 combined. Being Dreamcasted Wii has zero chance. 360 very very small chance. PS3 maybe 50/50 the only one with any real chance of being Dreamcasted. My PS3/360 combined get far less play time than Wii does.

For what you mentioned for gaming preferences, the 360 does have the better software library, and has no chance of being "dreamcasted". It will definitely continue to get the game types that you mentioned, even if it does end up in 3rd place this gen (unlikely at this point). Be aware, however, that it's software library focuses lopsidedly on certain genres of games while ignoring others. This is definitely affected because of it's main focus in North America, while doing below average in Europe and a complete non-factor in Japan. HOWEVER I would still wait a bit before purchasing one. Hardware reliability is still an issue. A die shrink for the processor and graphics, which should help with cooling and reliability, has already been confirmed for later this year. A price drop may be implemented by then as well, making the deal much better value overall if you have the patience. Just my 2 cents, I hope I didn't sound biased. ^,^;;

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

the thing is i like buying the best selling system....i like buying gaming machines that is popular because in my opinion third parties support a system that has the most sold units right?? and if there arent alot of games on a system then people wont buy the system right???

 In that case, wait until after the warzone that is 2007 is over.

It's going to be the Wii's best vs. the 360's best and, by the end of this year, you'll see which is the clear winner.

However, the Wii already owns Japan as a next gen console by at least 60%. Take that into account for how many Japanese devs will behave.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

I have a Wii so obviously I would say go for the Wii. However, The Wii is very hard to find and the 360 isn't. The 360 has a larger library at the moment and many of them are really good games. FPS and Sports in particular. If you plan on only buying one system ever, then get the one you know will have the franchises you like. If you plan on buying a few then Wii60 is the way to go. Maybe a PS3 after a $200+ price drop and some games actually come out for it.

Like some people said: get the system that has games you would like to play. If you like FF, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, MGS, then get a PS3. If you like Halo, Fable, Forza, Gears of War, then get a 360. If you like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Brothers, then get a Wii. It is all as simple as that. Unless, of course, money is a big issue.
