I don't care about anywhere else because mostly people are ignoramuses about this sort of stuff. What incensed me was seeing this dodgy data being regurgitated without critque or analysis right here in VGChartz "news". For a site that is meant to be dedicated to tracking and analysing console and video game sales it was terrible to see this sort of unreliable information being given such uncritical exposure on this website.

At best it was lazy reportage, at worst is was complicit promotion of unreliable misinformation.

Infoscout was suggesting 53% to Xb one and 31% to PS4 in a 5-way race that included Wii U, PS3 and X360. VGCs preliminary data based only on Xb one, PS4 and Wii U sales gives Xb1 47.5% and PS4 39%. 47.5% vs 39% in a 3 horse race is a helluva lot different picture than 53% vs 31% in a 5 horse race. In the end PS4 might wind up slightly above the to 31%, but Xb one will be in the low 40% range, which from a PR perspective and public perception perspective has no where near the wow factor. And yet even with a preliminary sales data article VGC "News" is still perpetuating that horribly inaccurate data.

Wii U will also see a better market share than infoscout suggested. Infoscout pegged Wii U at a measly 6%. The preliminary data suggests Wii U got a 3-way market share of 13%. The 5-way share will probably be around 10% since PS3, 360 and Wii U will be fighting for the table scraps of the 20% or so that is not PS4bone. And PS3 will definitely be the smallest by a long way.

Exactly and when they have reported on similar things in the past and gotten it wrong time and time again their so called methodology should be called into question just like if this site messes up on the numbers.
