They're not gonna make another LTD announcement until the new year, so I wouldn't base any theories on if and why not they don't do PR.

Expect something like "12m shipped" from their quarterly earnings next year.

Hmm, that would suck. So, you think they won't comment on the 10m again? It makes sense not to I guess, since they already said it once.

However, I wouldn't expect them to say 12m shipped. It'll likely include 360, so 13m probably.

Eh? Why would they talk about XB1 LTD and include 360? That wouldn't make any sense even for MS spinning.

Especially when you created this confusion in the first place :D

You said "12m shipped", LTD was mentioned in the previous sentence. If they just say shipped numbers, it will include 360, because that is what their last quarterly did. Last quarterly, did NOT mention LTD either.

But whatever, we agree anyway so no big deal.

(but I'm watchin you pal O_O)

There wont be another announcement on it. The original announcement was it, to where people over-reacted and downplayed it. The next time you will hear shipment numbers most likely would be quarterly results which could be like 12-13m total. If your lucky they might announce it on NPD or something, maybe new years but i doubt it

I don't think it's because it was downplayed, because honestly, it was 100% factual. Like I noted in my calculations above, 10m shipped is likely happening either right now, or within a few days. Meanwhile, "close to 10m shipped" was announced Nov. 13th. More than two weeks ago. Which means by the time it happens, it will have been three weeks. Psychologically, if they were to say 10m shipped, it could now seem like a step backward. Better to just say 10m at that point which incentivises more people on black friday to purchase, because the console appears healthier than previously thought.

I mean, why else announce it so early? Why not just say it when it happened? It was clearly done for the purpose of vitalizing sales. So yeah, I don't think we are going to revisit 10m. Like Seece says, it's more likely we'll hear a LTD at some point in Jan, or we'll have to settle for xbox shipped units from the financials.

I think it is under tracked at least by 10 million.

I went to a Costco today. All the Xbox1's were gone. They had a full pallet of PS4's for $479 (bundled with 2 controllers, and a year of PS+)

They did have a pallet of Xbox live 1 year subscription cards for $49.99, and racing controllers by Thrustmaster for both the Xbox1 and PS4.
I went to a few stores after the weekend, and I have seen a total of 3 Xbox1's 2 with Kinect, and 1 AC Unity bundle. and only a few ps4's. It was not until I went into Costco today where I saw the biggest pile of PS4's available.

Both did well, and when the numbers release, it will show that.

Target had sold out of XB1 AC:U bundles in my area on Saturday, but it seems they have all been re-stocked this week.

PS4 is now the opposite.  Most of the same stores are sold out of all PS4 SKUs.

My 8th gen collection

I just checked the Target Website also, regular xbox1 not available online or in stores. AC unity bundle with Kinect, only available in stores. checked and most stores are in limited quantities.
The AC Unity bundle w/o kinect is not available online, but all the stores around me seem to be back in stock.

I just checked the Walmart site, and almost every bundle is out of stock They even had a xbox with 40" TV bundle, that sold out.

Both Walmart, and Target seem to be out of Destiny PS4's.

Well i'm the first one to praise XBO and to take jabs at Sony whenever I can....while I'm sure XBO is probably undertracked at least after BF....
But I think the fact that there are more unsold PS4 than XBO is probably more related to stores stocking up more PS4 than XBO thinking it would sell more than only XBO dominating BF... I'm sure MS did great and maybe better than PS4 but sighting of PS4 palettes is not enough proof to claim flawless victory yet 😜
