Well, we haven't had official word yet from MS about BF sales.

Last we'd heard they were close to 10m shipped. Presumably, they must have hit that on the current shipment, seeing as how so many stores were wiped clean of units. Will MS come out and say 10m shipped now?

If they announced 10m shipped, then that means the ones in transit will likely be the 800k difference between Ioi's preliminary numbers of 9.2 total ww and 10m.
However, if they've already shipped 10m before black friday, it would mean xb1 is probably undertracked somewhat. This idea is working under the stipulation that MS would be shipping the vast majority of units to the US, ie; >50%.

If they don't announce 10m shipped. Then xb1 is likely overtracked.

I'm aware that it's only Monday and we haven't really given them time to make an announcement. This is why it's a "prediction thread".

As for the end of september, xb1 has likely sold in the realm of 6.7-7.3m depending on how they broke down shipments because they announced 3.5m xbox units, and didn't differentiate xb1 and 360.
End of september we have roughly 6m sold through, which would mean .7-1.3 on shelves. Which is about normal for holiday warehouse holding.

Let's just take the average of 1m and apply it to Black Friday sales, imagining that ww there are no other consoles (for simplicity sake)

So they had to ship at least what our sold through points, plus 1m or so. They sales from then til now are 2m. So the very least amount shipped is 9m. Backstock would have to be at least 700k-1m.

So, it's likely that this newest shipment, ie; the one to replenish bf (and now we include the world), would have to be extremely close to 10m.

They're not gonna make another LTD announcement until the new year, so I wouldn't base any theories on if and why not they don't do PR.

Expect something like "12m shipped" from their quarterly earnings next year.

Especially one like that ... they've already done a "10m shipped" PR piece, they wanted the average joe to think it was 10m sold ect, even though we know the truth. They're not going to repeat that sort of figure again.

Hmm, that would suck. So, you think they won't comment on the 10m again? It makes sense not to I guess, since they already said it once.

However, I wouldn't expect them to say 12m shipped. It'll likely include 360, so 13m probably.

Eh? Why would they talk about XB1 LTD and include 360? That wouldn't make any sense even for MS spinning.

Because if they wait til year end, then they're probably going to include it with a financials statement, and last financials statement had both xboxes put together.

Unfortunately, we don't really know what close meant. It could be almost 9 million. I assume that they are either close to 10 or at ten now. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they will make an official announcement on shipped, or sold. The problem they run into is the counter announcement from Sony, which has to pushing 17 million. And Lord knows, if Microsoft says anything, Sony will respond by Friday. Whatever announcement they make needs to come before Sony because it has time to be incubated before Sony drops their bomb. If they go after Sony, the response will be very muted.
