Forums - Nintendo - Capcom announces RE:UC has surpassed 1 Million sold

i've made a "John Lucas" like prediction
that this game will outsell RE5

Around the Network

1m sales for this (shipped figures) isn't really a lot. Consider that DMC4 shipped 2m units in the first 2-3 weeks on sale.

RE5 should do 4-5m in the first 1-2 months on 360/PS3.

No question that RE5 would do well on the Wii - but it makes more sense to focus on the current version, then look at a Wii port maybe 12 months after its release.

RE4 initially came out what ... 2..3 years ago? And its still doing well?

Shams, I'm certain that since DMC 4 is multiplat (and therefore costs 10% extra), costs more to make, and is likely to have less legs, Capcom made more money on RE:UC and RE4 separate, than on DMC4

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

I think we will see a DMC spin-off on wii soon

No, we will see a DMC 3 "Wiimake"

Quite possible. Without some numbers, its hard to do a real analysis. RE:UC has been in development for a long time.

The profit per (shipped) unit on DMC4 is no doubt significantly higher than on UC or RE4.

And if the development cost for their internal DMC4 engine is be shared amoung various titles - that helps considerably.

...

I'm basically saying, that I think its in Capcoms interest to spread out potential releases for RE5 - release the 360/PS3 versions first, then throw it to the Wii/RE4 team for 12 months for a quality port - plus extra content.

You don't consider a million for a light gun shooter a lot??? It must have been since Duck Hunt that such a game sold over a million. And this one wasn't even a polished product. I loved it though, because I could revisit all these old locations (Mansion brrrrrr) and learn more about Wesker.

I don't know if RE5 will do 5 million in total on PS360. Look at RE4, it sold 5.7 million total on 3 consoles (didn't count the PC version). 1.6 million is the Wii version. That's 28% and rising for the wii version of the game.

DMC did very well, and RE will surely sell more, but I'm not completely convinced the whole RE audience is on the HD machines.

REUC was actually a pretty good game, I got addicted to multiplayer for a while, good sit down and not think game...

i would love a RE:UC 2 to focus on re4 re2 an RE CV with the behine the sholder re4 gameplay that would be great

Yes, I do hope this would pursuade Capcom to make a Wii version of RE5. It won't cost too much to do so, and if they implement RE4 controls, the game would rock even more.
