Not a problem: the restriction is solely for "immediately trading games purchased as gifts." "Games purchased as gifts can still be gifted at any time, of course, but if you're just keeping the item in your inventory you won't be able to trade it for 30 days after purchase. "

Back then I got 4 games and I don't have a clue why I wanted them (Risk II - a game that's meanwhile been removed from Steam, Silent Hunter III, Space Trader and Defense Grid). I never even touched 3 of those and the 4th one taught me that I hate TD games not named Dungeon Keeper.

I have a retail copy of Silent Hunter 4... I still have to install it though .

 

By the way, to be able to gift a game on Steam we still have to be friends with that user, right?

No problem, and welcome aboard!

So in a few weeks' time I'll jumble all the participants' names into a (figurative) hat, and everyone will give a gift(s) to the person they were assigned (their "Tim") before the end of the year. They will also receive a gift before the end of the year from their "Santa," which is a third participant who was assigned you as their "Tim."

Basically, you give a gift(s) to someone, and you get a gift(s) from someone else.
