Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil Revelations 2 is shaping up to be...a bit bad.

And it pains me to say such thing, considering my love for the franchise, but...

This video has triggered some alarms. Of course, this might not be representative of the final product, but I've spotted several things that look completely out of place. it doesn't help that the dude playing can't barely do a thing, but that also shows some flaws on the product:

· Claire shows lack of cohesion with the world. I mean, I don't need realistic "picking up" animations, but this one looks...bland. Claire just stretches her arm and slaps the air or something. There's some others animations that look out of place.

· Moira looks like a problem. She gets in the way too often and lacks focus (or something, isn't she supposed to dazzle enemies?)

· She also seems unable to understand what the player is trying to do, especially when he's trying to open the door to get away from the enemies and she's wandering around there, doing...nothing.

· What's up with the enemies. The AI looks horrendous. The dude playing is like he's trying to get killed but he can't. Zombies in RE6 were smarter than these evil things.

· Maybe he's playing on the easiest difficulty, but my, my, isn't Claire strong. Even with the bleeding mechanic or whatever, and still she isn't getting killed!

Of course, everything can change. I just...dunno. I guess I'm a bit disappointed with what I saw. Atmosphere and story looks interesting enough, though, so that's great. :)

Doesn't look like the best Resi game, but also doesn't look like the worst one so

Yeah, but that isn't the kind of mentality I would like Capcom to adopt with their biggest franchise :/

What the hell have they done to Claire? She got real ugly...

You're rigth. They made pretty clear so far that is a low buget title, and really is showing. The idea of a episodic game reallly does'nt help to build confidence.

I want to believe that they will not screw over the best thing that made with the franchise in the recent years, but them i remenber, its capcom. Lets wait and see :(.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Sorry to say Wright, but i think you are beeing too harsh on it. The atmosphere looked good and the gameplay looked like the RE we know and love. Remember this is a sequal to Revelations, not RE7.

The only thing i somewhat dislike is Claire's look in the new model and her voice. They dont seem to match very well. I just wish they didnt make her look like an old hag.

I dont know but i snt like you older type resi fans dont even know what you want anymore, to be honest? You got your game and now youre desipointed that it doesnt live up to your nostalgia? Nothing will make it the first time again this is how life works.
For me Resi 5 was the best resident evil game ever made. Resident evil was never scary and was always about actions style military environment unlike games like silent hill or why else you always played as a swat team since 1?
Resident evil 5 was great, tons of secrets to find like hidden gems, a great coop mode and mercenary mode and lot of action and combat tactics for the enemies which you wont find on your call of duty shooter number 249. Unfortunately capcom listened to the fans and we got resi 6, a game that doesnt know what it wants to be.

the only thing that bugs me is Moira and having an AI partner to begin with it just takes the fear aspect away

i actually like claires look its been along time since we where introduced to her you gotta expect some aging to take place she what now mid 30s?

i just bought and finished the first revelations in sept of this year on the ps3 b/c 2 was announced i thought it was quite good for what it was but i didnt have high hopes to begin with so i'll go into part 2 with the same mind set

                                                                      Play Me

the game is episodic if remember right, so what did you expect. It has the budget of an AAA indie title. LMAO!

Oh capcom... You have done it again

My favourite RE games are 1, 5 and 6. I think I can stomach pretty much whatever Capcom has to offer, but I was just making some observations about things I don't like.
