Don't understsnd why people are saying the Xbone had better deals than the PS4...everywhere I seen they were pretty much the same price and the PS4 deals actually were better in some places

this
at least in the uk, u could get incredible great ps4 deals. just like the xb1 ones
in main land europe, u can get great ps4 deal, too. but the xb1 is still always cheaper and u got more free stuff.

"The gap between Xbox One and PS4 continues to narrow, with Xbox One deals a more visible presence than either PS4 or Wii U both on the High Street and online this weekend."

Praise the One.

It's pretty damn obvious that's what it means.

Not really? How does "continued momentum" mean it outsold PS4 last week? Isn't momentum all about increasing in sales and awareness, and not about "being first"? Sorry, but that's not a conclusion you can make from that.

It's not in the article.

"Sales of both next-gen consoles were up sharply week-on-week in the UK last week as retailers offered some great Black Friday deals.

Overall games hardware sales (both consoles and handhelds) soared past 300k units, a retail source has told MCV. Home console sales in the UK are at this point double were they were at the same stage in 2013, although the handheld market is down by almost a third.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One saw sales double week-on-week, with Xbox One again just edging ahead of its rival.

This continues Xbox One’s recent momentum, which has seen it reach 1m sales in the UK a little over 2m months afterPS4 did the same, although it falls short of the barnstorming victory Microsoft’s machine apparently saw in the US over the weekend.

The gap between Xbox One and PS4 continues to narrow, with Xbox One deals a more visible presence than either PS4 or Wii U both on the High Street and online this weekend."

I ask again. This never states it won last week.

Also it's pretty funny that they quote InfoScout for the US lol

pretty clear.
xb1 won this and last week by a small margin

"again". You don't say again if the previous week PS4 outsold Xbox One.

Hmm, well, I'm not entirely sure Sony is.  I mean they did bundles sure, but that's not really the same as a price drop is it?  I was also curious, and you'd probably be a good person to ask this, what do you think an appropriate timeframe following BF and other such high deal holidays, is it for a company to officially do a price drop?  Ergo, without pissing off a whole bunch of people who just bought your product, kind of thing?  Or do companies even really care about that?  I was thinking Sony would now be kind of locked into their current price model until at least after the new year+.  Even though we know they're making slight amounts of money on each console sold?

Sony doesn't appear to be as anxious this gen to absorb losses on each console, like they were with the PS3 (though, admittedly, they had to given the cost of the machine...but you know what I mean).  Obviously they could be basically selling the machine for 100-$150 if they were to take as much of a dent per unit, as they did with the PS3, so not talking about that.  I mean more along the lines of 25-50, something marginal?

Anyway, was just something I was thinking about earlier.

OP:  Congratz to the Xbox One, figured they'd do well this holiday, I'm still curious to see what the new baseline looks like post-holiday rush.  But, for now, Microsoft definitely put forth a great deal of effort to move hardware in the UK/US.  So, good to see people acknowledging those efforts.

I dont think companies think about it too much or care at all.  Despite what they may say or do.  I dont think they should care either.  Buyer beware I say.

Cool, thanks.

Please explain. Show me how clear it is. Here is an example:

PS4 sold 60k last week and XB1 55k. In BF week XB1 sold 115k and PS4 113k. Both doubled in sales but XB1 took 1st place after being second last week...

Don't start this... We've always taken MCV numbers. Now that they report that the Xbox One won narrowly you discredit them?
