Forums - Sales - Xbox One wins Black Friday in the UK, sales double

Microsoft wanted this badly, to the point that even I bought an Xbox One because of the good deal. And I wasn't planing in buying one at all.

There is Black Friday in Brasil too, I was able to get an UK price Xbox One there.

Price is THE major factor... always is, always will be.

Only in the US and UK

Only NOT in Japan. Drop XB1 to 99 euros with Halo, Sunset, Forza bundled and it'd give PS4 a real run for its money.

Would never happen, obviously.

Was at game at 12 on black friday and saw 10-20 ps4 being bought, where as the Xbox one sold out in minutes and i had to collect next day (i know not representative of the UK), i think we shall see the xbox overtake the PS4 in the coming months.

I think not given the drought on X1 and PS4s early 2015 exclusives.  You all need to open your eyes and accept it took many factors for X1 to match PS4 sales.

Yeah it had to drop the silly kinect so it could match it on price.

The only reason XB1 is outselling the PS4 in the UK (and US) currently is that it's having way better deals than the PS4, deals Microsoft wont continue into 2015. If the price is even then PS4 will outsell it.

How do you know MS wont continue the deals ? They arent stupid

That's why. The Xbox division is one of the less-profitiable divisions within Microsoft and there has already been talks of investors wanting to get rid of Xbox. Microsoft can't afford to make the Xbox One a financial disaster, especially if it still gets outsold WW on a regular basis.

Hard to beat a billion dollar corporation.. They can drop the Xbox one to 199 whenever they want too

Actually they can.. And Sony can do absolutely nothing to combat it.. And who cares.. The article says just edges out the competition.. So they almost sold the same despite the one having way better deals in bundles

The fact that Microsoft has billions of dollars in its pocket doesn't mean they'll just take billions of dollars of loss to win a console race, that's not how a business is run.

Which offsets the huge momentum PS4 has had this past year.

The thing is if they make a lose of £50 on every xbox sold this can easy be made up through store sales or xbox live gold, sometimes in business you have to reduce profits in the short term for long term rewards.

And just so you know MS makes billions in profit so can aborb this, where as Sony have been in the red for many years.

If it was this simple then consoles (especially Xbox consoles) would launch at way lower price, wouldn't they?
