Yes, but remember the downloads are for rewards and offers. If these promotion are for the one console in particular then the numbers will obviously be skewed. 

Poin in case, that site had Madden and COD as the top sellers on BF , we know there's no way that's correct, but which gamers usually buys these? This speaks volumes of their sample.

Random, in a statistical sense, means something different than random in everyday usage.  In a statistical sense, random means that every member of your population (in this case the population means anyone buying a console this holiday) has an equal chance of being selected.

So, if it's a smart phone app, then already there is a bias towards certain people.  For example, who is more likely to use the app.  A 70 year old woman buying a gift for her granddaughter, or a 25 year old tech savvy customer buying a console for himself?

If the data collection method in any way skews the data by age, gender, income level, or any other factor, than it is not random.

Sure. Wii U just had it's biggest release and it has become more popular over time. PS3 is dying, has had no big exclusives since last year, and all of the multiplats releases (except some JRPGS) always sell more on the X360. And, while I'm not quite sure on this one, Wii U's BF deals are way more appealing than PS3's.

We know Wii U will be up by a lot YoY, and PS3 severely down YoY.



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Wii U is up yoy, while PS3 and X360 are down yoy, X360 is always more appeling in USA. We all know that. But I still want belive Wii U somehow manage to outsell 360. It would be good for NIntendo to finally outsell last gen consoles.
