This Australian-Developed Indie Title is Kojima's Game of the Year
Hideo Kojima has revealed his choice for 2014’s game of the year. Kojima took to Twitter to praise the award-winning noir puzzle game Framed, developed by Melbourne-based Loveshack Entertainment.
“Played ‘FRAMED’ by Liveshack. High sense of gameplay, graphic & sound. My best game in this year without any doubt,” writes Kojima.
Released on iOS devices on November 13, Framed is a silent, noir-style adventure in which players must change the order of comic book panels to change the outcomes of the narrative. The game has won numerous indie awards and was a PAX 10 selection at PAX Prime 2014.
Loveshack co-founder and Framed creator Joshua Boggs responded to Kojima’s high praise via Twitter, comparing it to a childhood idol saying “You did good, kid,” adding that Kojima’s work inspired him to “pursue creating games.”
Earlier in the year, Boggs was critical of the Australian government’s decision to cease support of the Australian Interactive Games Fund, a fund intended to boost the Australian game development community.
