I don't think panicking is the right word. I'd say they are fighting back, just like PS3 had to when was losing market share in it's first years. MS is doing it early to prevent further loss and if they can reduce prices on a hard/software basis then good for them and for the consumers.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

The biggest problem I see is this.

If Microsoft people are at least somewhat like Nintendo people they would go

If I would be a $60 SO owner I would not buy the next game or any other MS exclusive full price anymore. I hate paying more than others for no reason.

Thats also why I dont buy third party games on consoles anymore (unless they are console exclusive) I wait 1 year and get a $5 steam version. Fuck price drops!
