Hmm, I wonder, will that mean that China will essentially have the same situation as Japan where handhelds will be very popular compared to consoles?


Handheld will always be popular in China mainland cuz kids can always buy one without parents' permission(as long as you have the money lol) and play it at home/school with no intervention from parents or teachers. PSP was so popular cuz you dont have to spend a penny buying games which is a huge benefit for students.

Consoles, on the other hand, are less popular unless you dont live with your parents lol. This is from my real-life experience lol. Also, PC gaming is popular cuz you can always ask your parents to buy you a new one for studying(without mentioning gaming)。

So the X360 sold more units in China than Ps3?
Or what does that guy want to tell us?
I always thought the opposite.

But maybe that's what he mean with more popular.
Just more popular, but not better selling.
The Ps4 is more popular, but worse selling than the Xb1
The X360 was more popular but worse selling than the Ps3

....Sony aims for 200k anually...!China hasn't only a feud with Japan but with USA too,even though recently they try to be reconciled with Americans and Japanese.

Also,China is the reason that USA and Japan are allies in spite of  their history...!The question is if the feud is between the gonverments and not the people...!

China-Japan are enemies because of a territorial dispute,as for USA,their animosity is based on the market dominance from USA's aspect(China's cheap products big penatration is believed to be a threat for the west) and the espionage tactics of USA from China's aspect(They have banned many american products but only for the politicians i think)...

the main problem is that china's middle class even if it's in the 100s of million is still way poorer than their counter part in the western world

Okay so there is a HUGE issue that will pretty much make it impossible for them:

The unlocked Xbox Ones are cheaper than the locked government controlled one?!?!.
And the imported PS4s are more popular than the unlocked cheaper Xbox Ones.

I don't understand WHY the 'legit' console is so expensive to begin with. I was under the impression that the government mandated that the units be produced in China. So why the hell are they more expensive then imported units. I am suspicious of SMG.

It must be rules set by the Chinese government. Maybe they don't want X1 to sell for a low price. If the grey market price is cheaper than the actual price then that's really bad cause usually things sold on the black market imported from another country are sold at a much higher price then what they actually cost in the first place.

It was actually 100k shipped.  At least according to Xbox China.
