So I've had Skyward Sword sitting on my shelf for a good year and a half calling to me, making me feel guilty for not picking it up. And I've really been looking forward to playing it for a long time now. Anyways so I finally said f**k it and popped it in.
All I can say is I'm sooooo disapointed
For the record, I've loved every Zelda game I've ever played and consider them top of their class in the genre. But this game is just not doing it for me. First off it looks horrible on my 60 inch samsung, just horrible. I know the Wii's an old machine, but seriously the game is a flickery blury low res mess. Which is unusual as Nintendo are usually able to impress based on style and amazing art. But in this case, whatever art and assthetic they were shooting for, is completely ruined by the poor performance.
But graphics are only the most obvious of problems here. Zeldas about kick ass game play after all, and that's what's really off putting about the whole tihing. The actual game play and controls are just plain bad to broken. I seriously hate it. I spent the first few hours wandering around a near empty town playiing out the most cliche of stories, fighting with the inept camera and unituitive controls, just waiting for it to get good. Now I'm about half way through the first dungeon and it's just more of the same. Horrible horrible camera, and broken unresponsive combat..
Anyone else have th same opinions/experience?
Should I give the game more time?
Am I missing something?
Just having a hard time accepting this is the game with a 93 on metacritic!
