Maybe 1-1.2m. A few hundred K of that were the PC version (PC games sell more digitally than in retailers).

I think games which are more than 10GB are DL less. 40GB range is probably considerably less.
It is wrong I guess because AW sold more than Ghost and these data shows the opposite.

Eh I don't think many people think about that before they buy, especially now with the 500GB hard drives.

No, AW sold more than Ghosts on PS3+360+PC, not including next gen

It's not the hdd space that's the problem. Downloading 40GB for someone with poor internet is incredibly slow.
It's 86 hours for someone with a 1.5mbit line and standard ~50% overhead.

I live in Frisco, TX, and have access to 100mbit internet. A few miles north of me I have many friends that live in areas where 768k or 1.5mbit are the fastest speeds available. One of them tethers his Verizon LTE, which gives him anywhere from 6mbit to around 30mbit, but it's super expensive for the data plan and it runs over at some low cap.

The game could be pre-loaded, making this much less of an issue.
Anyway, how big is CoD on PS4?
Pre-loading would be a massive issue for someone with that kind of internet. Every time they went to use the internet for anything else it would be borderline unusable. Hell, my friend in Aubrey with 768k 'uverse' it would take over 160 hours without any web browsing, facebook, youtube, email, etc.
"Hey you can preload"
"Okay, don't use your internet for anything else for 3 days and 8 hours straight, and it will be downloaded!"

Still, cases like that are the exception these days, not the rule. Otherwise Steam wouldn't sell so many games and have so many users.
