My purchasing habits are definitely affected by my ideals. Until they started turning around recently I refused to purchase anything from Sony because of their shitty attitude and business sense. Now this gen it doesn't matter how many amazing games show up on Xbone; I refuse to ever buy one because of Microsoft's actions before launch, coupled with their non-gaming stuff as well. And if I were into Assassin's Creed games, you bet your bippy I wouldn't be touching Unity. I try not to be snobby about any of it; I just have opinions of companies and I feel some don't deserve to be supported. So no, I'm most certainly not a sheep.

It's extremely important to vote with your dollar. Unfortunately a lot of people just end up grumbling and giving in anyway. Or in most cases, the outspoken people on the internet do indeed end up not buying the things they claim to boycott, but the unwashed masses do, giving the impression that people are being hypocrites when they're really not. The people doing the boycotting make up a tiny portion of the gaming population, but they're the loudest, so they seem bigger.

Too much people complain then comply. Good you are holding your ground.

Not talking about not buying because others don't like, but keep promissing yourself not to buy because dev behaviour isn't acceptable, rage on Internet and buy it anyway.

Oh, well. I haven't found any situation like that. I don't buy AC but mainly because I find the games boring, not because the dev is incompetent. I think if a dev, not matter how crappy or incompetent they could get, pull out a decent/good/great/awesome game on the market, what possible reason would someone has for not getting it? Bitterness?

Hard to be crappy and incompetent and put out awesome games, unless you evaluate incompetence in a exquisite way.

So you guys think DonFerrari has a deeper problem lying underneath it all...

What problem could be underneath using a joke name someone gave to a game? Besides the flaming you are doing.

only immature attention seekers go with announcements like "I am going to boycott them" approach. seriously if early bugs annoy you then wait a few weeks after a game is released till you decide to buy it. Games are so incredibly complex nowadays, especially with MP that bugs are almost inevitable, but generally the nice part is the critical ones are usually cleaned up within a week or 2 of release.

I guess that means mindless sheep for me. Daring to enjoy something that is not up to other people's standards.

I don't think you enjoying the game and accepting the failures make you a sheep. Complaining a lot but buying anyway does.

No, I'm not a sheep, I don't boycott games for silly reasons.

What is a justifiable reason?

Not being interested in a game at all.

If you are interested in a game you shouldn't make excuses not to play it, just get it and enjoy it. Doesn't matter how many pixels there are or how terrible the launch was or how evil the developer is. If it's a game/genre you like, get the game and play it. If some things annoy you and you don't want to pay full price, then fair enough just wait for a sale, no reason to skip the game completely though. Same for games that launch buggy, just wait until they are fixed.

If you don't have interest in the game not buying isn't boycot Just not buying what you don't want.

Every time a game like Parity or BF4 or even DC or Halo:MCC comes out with a shitload of glitches we promisse to boycott it and never again buy from that developer, yet we go there and buy the shitgame FW and preorder the sequel but keep complaining about how shit and greed the dev is.

Do you keep far from shit products or you are a sheep buying in droves?

Ps: this looks like politics, we protest like lions and vote like asses.

Correction: YOU "promisse to boycott it."

I don't necessarily "boycott" games because there's always still a chance that they'll be really good.***

Like COD Ghosts vs. Advanced Warfare, Aliens: Colonial Marines vs. Alien: Isolation or Dragon Age 2 vs. Inquisition.

Just because the last one was bubbling garbage floating in the Hudson, doesn't mean the next one won't be absolutely amazing. Developers might change, or they may see the error of their ways, and then actually work to make a good game. I mean, most developers don't make enough money to keep shoveling crap, and if they do they're going out of business like Airtight or THQ did.

I think that there's still a chance for people to see what's wrong with their games and try to make them better, and I do think that, even if developers/publishers do sell out crap (Sims 4) there's still potential for something really good (Dragon Age: Inquisition).

***Except Sonic. I will never buy another Sonic game, and I stand by that one. ESPECIALLY after Lost World, and now with this whole Sonic Boom crap. Seriously, go watch Game Grumps play Sonic Boom! It's fucking awful! I desperately want SEGA to stop killing my childhood icon and just let it go out with some form of dignity.

I never boycoted any game so we can drop that. I'm talking in general way.

But talking about me, I wouldn't buy a game (sequel or same dev of a really broken game) day 1, I would at least wait to confirm if it's good (well I do it with almost everything that aint PD or ND developed).

Agree 100%. I don't boycot, just avoid a game while it isn't worth. Also won't be complaining about it all day or endorsing boycot. This is why I said about the posture of complaining, threating and then buying. Not just waiting to see if the game is worth.

I believe in you. I don't like any yearly release (luck me), I just buy 1 Fifa per gen dirty cheap to play with Friends sometime.
