thats the entire purpose, hoping for/knowng a lazy news outlet will drop the soon/shortly/almost/approaching part and give the general public the impression that the xbox one has sold 10 million.

They have the advantage of an endless cash reserve to drive investment and get results like these. Looks like they're going to have a big holiday period.

"Shipped 5 million", "Soon to be shipped 10 million" techniques will work for a short time. But soon the difference will be too big to escape (Example, Next year PS4 sold 35-40 million and Xbox One sold 15-17 million). Plus in future when these tactics truth comes out it becomes embarassing for a corporation.
Congratulation!! just another 3m to easily beat PS4 WW for this holiday!!!

Not only that, but Larry's choice of words is very intriguing. "Approaching" is a pretty ambiguous term since it doesn't really give us a clear idea of how many X1's MS has sold or shipped. All we can come up with from his tweet is that X1's shipments are below 10M. By how much? We don't know...

Fuckin' hell. Where is that?

Hmmmm... Honestly, this doesn't mean much. What does "shortly" mean? It could mean by the end of December...
It's obvious MS have done a good job of reviving the console though, at least in the US.

Some armed forces base in Hawaii. As people on GAF have said, they typically keep loads of consoles on hand because the enlisted people will buy them when they have money in their pockets. The place apparently has a lot of PS4's as well.
Seems like bad inventory management to me. Why order so many CoD bundles if you still have all those TF bundles? People on GAF are irate and pointing to this as an explanation for MS's shipments, but it's not like they force these things on people. If you want Xbox One's you still have to order them, even if it's the holidays.

I will admit that Nelsen nearly got me with his tweet. It was a very clever choice of words, but nevertheless, the meaning of that tweet is very foggy and ambiguous.
