The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Glad to see some love for this game. This is actually my favourite Zelda, absolutely loved this game.

It's always cool to see others be equally enthousiastic about a game as you are. Especially if that game is usually overlooked in favor of more well known ones .

Reading my own description, you'd wonder why I haven't placed this game even higher up the list .

#3 hint - Flooded

#3 hint 2 - Pirates

Time for the game #2: Game was very loved by critics and gamers, a remaster made it even better.

The Last Of Us Remastered?

Not the remaster, since I haven't played it, but you're right. The Last of Us.

I missed the last 3 weeks due to finals and Christmas. I hope your Holiday has gone well, and I would like to post my last huge chunk of clues.
There’s a lot here… and I really want them to be guessed so I’m going to give out some bonus hints if they aren’t guessed soon.

20. “sorry to keep you waiting!”
19. This game is the first appearance of the popular game character that says “I have fury”
18. A respectable movie platformer based upon a 1990s Pixar movie franchise for playstation.
17. In this game, Mario shot out super balls instead of fire balls, rescued daisy instead of peach, and fought some sort of alien instead of bowser
16. Some consider this game a spiritual successor to Mario paint. But in this game you create your own “microgames”.
15. Next level games revives a retro Nintendo franchise for the first time.
14. Mark Hamill voices the main villain of this 2011 release. (unfortunately his character dies)
13. The hardest boss in this action RPG actually is not the final boss of this game, but actually the skeleton brother of the first boss, who is at the bottom of a 100 floor pit.
12. This charming game have players create and share levels they create themselves. And its only on playstation.
11. The hub world for this 3d platformer is a giant version of the main character’s head.
10. I discovered this video game through an Easter egg in call of Duty: Black Ops
9. The most polarizing (and considered to be the “darkest”) entry in this long running series action adventure series. Has a popular urban legend about a cursed version of this game.
8. In this game you aren’t truly ReDeemed until thRee years after you die.
7. This game was so good and sold so poorly that IGN (I know) started a campaign to encourage people to buy it.
6. This game stars a military penguin, a secret space agent monkey, a boxing yeti, a kangaroo, and (of course) a purple dragon.
5. This facial animation in this game was not only the best in the industry, it also was an integral part of the gameplay.
4. I played through this game and got 120 stars, just to unlock the ability to replay through the entire game again with my preferred characters.
3. This Action JRPG exudes youth culture. Multitasking is essential to the battle system, if you wear popular brands your attacks are boosted, but if you are good enough you can set new trends. Food takes time to digest, missions are given via cell phone, and you get experience for each day you don’t play the game.

So if I'm right only #20, #10 and #7 remain...

#20: Kid Icarus Uprising?

#10: one of those really old games you can play by breaking out of the chair and accessing that old computer in the main menu?

#7: Xenoblade? I don't know

Yep

   3

   Super Mario 64

   System: Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS
   Genre: 3D Platformer
   Year: 1997
   Rank last year: 3 (=)

Where Yoshi's Island (#4) was the best 2D platformer, Super Mario 64 is the best in the 3D variety, and a monumental game in general. It does everything right and there basically nothing that can be held against it. Nevermind the signifact impact it had on the gaming industry as a whole, it's an amazing game regardless. Still to this day, there's plenty of games that should have looked to Super Mario 64 with better attention when I experience things that are wrong or broken in new games, while this game already did them right almost two decades ago.

It is the definitive Mario experience to me, and one that never failes to impress. The huge variety of levels, all done with amazing design, keep the player entertained from beginning to end. There is no mediocrity here, no lull in creativity. Personally I always enjoyed the slides the most. One of the best things though is, the game's open world-like nature. The Castle hub gives access to each level in a non-linear way, with the only restriction being the Star requirement on certain levels. Super Mario Galaxy (#18) gave us the impression Nintendo hadn't given up on this open style of game-design yet afterall, but like many other fans, I am still waiting for true sequel. A game truly in the philosophy of this game. It's a long wait.

Surprised nobody guessed Super Mario 64 at #3. Could mean a couple things: Nobody cared (); the person that knew wasn't lucky enough to be online, or; KLXVER doesn't use Google for the answer to clues!

'L is real', as the letters I put in italics in the hint spell, was a reference to the giant rumor going on that Luigi was supposed to be unlockable and playable in Super Mario 64 .

Alright, for the Silver trophy;

Game #2

This game features a cutscene titled: "Revelation". A title well deserved, because when I played this game for the first time, this certainly was, a revelation.
