I have no idea because I've never played this game and know nothing about it, but I'm guessing Advance Wars because capital.

You are correct to focus on the Advance capitalization. Like every good hint, it contains not one, not two, but three hints for a price of one!

No but good guess. When I said first to feature a day-night cycle, I meant the first game in this series, not this game... which is the third in the series.

I've completely confused this...

#16 - Super Mario World

The SNES is awesome and it started with the very first game available for it: Super Mario World. Improving on the already stellar Super Mario Bros. 3, this game introduced a lot of new concepts that are now staples of the series like Ghosts houses, Yoshi, replayable stages and secret exits.

Although you can reach Bowser pretty quickly thanks to the Star Road, the fun of the game is in completing all of the game's levels (even the ridiculously hard ones like Tubular!).
