#24 - Sleeping Dogs

I loved this game, a lot. Even though it lacked content once you've done everything (a problem I have with most open-world games), the hard-boiled Hong Kong drama, the characters, the combat system and everything else had me hooked right from the beginning. This game was a joy and personally, one of the best things to come out of the seventh gen. :)

Even though it was kinda not demanded, given the sales, I'm glad an eight-gen version was made for those who missed it the first time.

Hint for 23

This 5th game in a series was the first time many played it

Get Your Portable ID!Lord of Ratchet and Clank

Duke of Playstation Plus

Warden of Platformers

Since no one guessed it, the #24 game was Mass Effect 3. Yeah, weird that this game is up here.

Hint for the game #23: 3 stereotypes join forces to illegitimately expropriate funds and/or goods from financial institutions, government agencies and the like.

Epic Mickey?

You got it. ^_^

Hint for #24:

This game's title is made up of two words: the first is a good way to describe the game; the second is too, considering this game earned a M rating, something its spiritual predecessor did not.

24. Disney's Epic Mickey
Wii (2010)
Junction Point Studios

I can hear it now: Epic Mickey? Aren't you aware of what a missed oppurtunity the game was? How flawed that game is? Oh yes, I'm aware of the game's shortcomings. But are you aware of what a magical game this is? That if you take a closer look, you'll find a true labor of love and a game that celebrates that love? Epic Mickey takes gameplay elements from some of the most iconic games out there: Zelda, Mario, Metroid... and creates its own identity though a fresh coat of Disney paint. This is a game that enourages you to take your time and smell the roses. To explore all you can explore just for sake of... exploring. To choose your own path and make your own decisions. To create... or destroy. As someone who grew up next to the Magic Kingdom, this game and its love really resonated with me. Not only that, but James Dooley's soundtrack is one of the finest I've had the priveledge to listen to. While the game is a flawed one, it also exudes a sort of magic rarely seen. And that's an experience I'll never forget.

I am falling a bit behind but here's a hint for #24.

Not quite the game that fans really wanted at first.

Hint for #23:

This game proved that when it comes to the concluding haven, furry amputees reign supreme.

I'm with you, Smeags! I think Epic Mickey carries around an undeserved negative reputation. Sure, there are camera problems. Yes, it's not as sinister as advertised. But it's still an amazing platform game with a very interesting morality system and plenty of side-quests and collectibles. Plus, for Disney fans, it's absolutely essential playing. Over 80 years of Disney animation are represented in this game; it's a true love letter to the house that Disney built.
