  Age of Mythology

   System: PC
   Genre: Real-Time Strategy
   Year: 2002
   Rank last year: 31 (v 2)

To me the best real-time strategy game ever made, Age of Mythology combines the air-tight game mechanics of the Age of Empires series with the fantasy of classical mythology. The player has the choice of three factions; Ancient Norse, Greeks and Egyptians. When chosing one of these, the player must then also chose out of three different main Gods, which determine unique units, certain bonusses and so-called God Powers. The expansion adds the Atlanteans, on top of a few extra new features, but it kind of unbalances the game.

Even to this day, the game looks very good, and it's the product of the great game engine Ensemble created and later used to even more beautiful result in Age of Empires III. This game was one of the more popular multiplayer-games in my family back in the day, and some matches could get quite tense.

Hint for number 32:

This game is all kinds of awesome, and easily the peak of a long-running series that was originally released for Windows but came to the Playstation shortly after. Oh, and this title has Samuel L. Jackson in it; that's automatic points right there!

GTA: San Andreas?

Game #32
This game has a completely different name in America, but uses the traditional name because of the series' fame in Europe. Usually, the numbers in the titles of these games add up to '9'.

The one and only! By far the best title in the series for me.

For those who missed it, Picture clues for #32.

Still yet to be solved!

Hint for #33. This game was horribly butchered when it got an iOS port.

Nope, there are a fair share of decent ports acutally. But this game, they redrew the graphics which on their own look okay but the animation is just awful and the game runs very poorly.

It seems it's time for another hint, the hero's name is a letter of the alphabet.
