It's a shame Youtube quality is pretty crappy to begin with. I'd rather they'd focus on improved encoding and higher bitrates first.

I think video footage most video footage captured at the moment is actually 30fps content so basically a lot of videos are showing the same frames twice. When more native 60fps content is uploaded it will look better.

Also, to hell with the video quality, Youtube needs to improve the crap sound quality and limitations!

You should watch more videos of PC games by people with actual gaming rigs(like TB). And honestly, the video quality is not noticebly worse than the real game. Go watch some 1080p60 videos on full screen and try to see if you can spot any major artifacts from compression.
Just because some videos on youtube are shit doesn't mean that there cannot be quality.

The video is generally very sharp and it's easy to see that the bad visual quality is due to the game rather than the video. If you look really hard you can see some rough patches(especially when paused) but I think this falls under the "good enough" category.

I dont like how it looks. I've watched a few skateboard videos and the video looks sped up and unnatural.

I dont really notice 60FPS in games so maybe my eyes are weird.

Oh I hope I wasn't unclear. I should state that yes 60fps videos are great when you watch a good one it looks much better than a 30fps one.

Yeah PC footage needs to be watched more. But what I meant was, a lot of content that has been uploaded have been from consoles which only do 30fps, so people that say they don't notice a difference might only be exposed to fake 60fps. Also, I don't think the 60fps is backdated so everything that was uploaded is still just 30fps.

Youtube quality is very acceptable no doubt(and to a lot of people, great quality). I'm on a laptop so can't make a full judgement on that video. But Youtube still compresses video, so on video sources with a lot of grain(more so applies to real life) you'll lose detail and get banding/artefacts. And the video compression they use is rather poor. Some sources are ruined, some aren't.

60 FPS is amazing, especially when seeing gameplay footage of Smash Bros and whatnot.

However will we get our "cinematic" experiences now?
