PS4 will be the driving force that brings consoles back to relevance in Japan. With square enix making a big push next year with dq heroes, ff15 and KH3 also hitting soon, console gaming is about to hopefully explode over there.

I can't wait for that boon to finally settle...

I want the smartphone boom to finally abate, so I could finally have more good games on my 3DS.

But, I seriously doubt console gaming will see a revival in Japan, for multiple reasons.

Awesome cause gaming on mobile isn't exactly an ideal experience for most "core" games

Yay next DQ on PS consoles again! I want this franchise to go back to how great it was as seen in DQ8.

Yeah i hope so, from the begining of PS 1 era. Sony has brought console to mainstream and bigger market to console and Japan

The console it self become important industry in the market since then, and 3rd party games  become important and more and more bigger games came.

Sorry guys it's not a "boom" it's a long term consumer shift.Smartphones aren't going anywhere, tablets may well decline but phones nup.
