Forums - Microsoft - Ridley Scott's 'Halo' TV show is off to a very, very bad start

Wait, what? Since when is Ridley Scott doing the show? I thought it was Stephen Spielberg?

http://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/steven-spielberg-to-produce-halo-tv-series-20140516

That article was from earlier this year. It says Scott was doing a multi-part film, not a TV series, and Spielberg was doing the series.

Hmm. Well what was the last really good SciFi series?

Doctor Who since 1963

Helix is okay. Nothing great but not bad either. The twist at the end of the first season was weird and kinda silly.

The initial marketing for the show called it an "event" indicative of a single season encapsulated story.  It got popular (for what it is) so naturally they are going to throw in a random twist, add a few seasons, and milk that cow to death.

Makes sense. Even the first season itself felt a bit streched.

This show is so bad I'm buying a PS4.

This is all you need to know!

No one should be hyped for anything from Ridley Scott after the disaster that was Prometheus.

O_O Was it really that bad?

And what about Exodus: Gods and Kings? He's helming that one right?

Continuum, had 3 seasons. 4th season is in the balance.
Stargate universe was good, cancelled.
Caprica was good, cancelled.

I guess not enough people like sci-fi. Crap like Once upon a time and Sleepy hollow are still going...

Sorry but those were all bad lol. Battlestar Galactica was really the only good Sci-Fi in ages! Not counting movies of course. Of course, like with everything else this is just a matter of taste.

They're not battlestar galactica material but at least they have some actual sci-fi stuff in there. The last season of Fringe was interesting too.
Terra nova, Under the dome, Defiance, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, V, The last ship, Extant all do nothing for me.

Ascension might be good. That's the kind of sci-fi I like. November 24.

It wasn't that bad. I mean, it wasn't a great movie by any standard, but at least it was a semi-comeback after the dreadful Alien vs Predator movies as well as the awful Alien Resurrection.

As for Gods and Kings, I have no expectations.

Almost human on Fox best show in a long time. And helix on syfy sucked and defiance went down hill after the third episode
