I get that kind of vibe too, but considering how ready the game was this past E3, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the summer.

It just seems that with these more "epic-but-not-a-big-franchise" type games, Nintendo schedules a late-in-the-year window, like Bayo 2 this year and W101 last year.
Everything Xenoblade is good in my book!!

Still one of the most breathtaking games I've seen.

Er, sort of. Wonderful 101 was probably scheduled for release in the Spring, then delayed to September. Likewise, Xenoblade X was probably scheduled for release late this year, then delayed to... __________?

Well for 2015, games like Splatoon, Mario Maker and Yoshi's Woolly World were all slated for "1st half 2015" whereas Xenoblade Chronicles X was just "2015" - and I guess it's very safe to assume that means 2nd half 2015. |

Summer is not first half. June, July, August are on the table.

| mZuzek said: Spring is, however. And people have been saying this direct will cover games up to Spring. Still, I can definitely see them expanding that and there seems to be a lot of evidence towards Xenoblade being shown. I don't really remember when this happened, but I do recall a previous Direct saying they'd be talking about certain games and then actually showed something more that wasn't supposed to be in that group of games at all. |
Nintendo does this all the time with Nintendo Directs. Last November they said they were showing their Holiday lineup, and revealed Kirby Triple Deluxe. Last December they said they were showing releases through spring, and they revealed Hyrule Warriors. Not to mention the Directs where they were supposed to focus on one platform, but dropped some info related to the other platform randomly in the middle of it (like NSLU, Virtual Console, System Update, Earthbound stuff in the middle of the 3DS-centric April 2013 Direct).
If anything, I definitely expect exactly one thing that is releasing after this spring. Which one thing? Hell if I know. Maybe a Star Fox teaser.
