Forums - Sony - Whoa!! Kojima: "Blu-ray Disc Not Big Enough for MGS4″

So, WHO is NOT happy, that Kojima was able to USE/FILL whole 50GB blu-ray disc??? =)

Me. Why should I be happy that he managed to fill a disc? I'll be happy if he makes the game awesome but a games quality isn't measured in gigabytes.

because filling the disk does not make the game fun, and it won't sell the game either.
UNLESS it`s a METAL GEAR SOLID game. =)

The first part doesn't make any sense at all.

You're complaining that the opinion of a poster whose name is "CrazzyMan" doesn't make sense.

You do realize that right?

Me and Crazzy go way back. It's tradition for me to respond to everything he says no matter how craz(z)y it is, so that he can quote me wrong when he replies and says something else worthy of his name. And the process continues. Until Nutboy arrives. THEN things really go crazzy.

This reminds me of Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon which only take up more than one disk on 360 due to FMV. I have a hard time believing he filled up a Blu-Ray disc unless the game features a ton of HD FMV.

Also, if they're filling the disk with a whole bunch of uncompressed audio, which is hardly different than compressed audio for many people, then they're actually wasting space which could be used for levels or something.
Just a specualations. But IF there 25GB of audio, i don`t mind. =)
So again, what`s the problem here? Who is UNHAPPY?

The first part doesn't make any sense at all. Does that mean if the disk was only 45GB and not 50GB, it wouldn't sell? Being full does not = fun. And being a MGS game has nothing to do with it.

And yes, the second part is just speculations, but the space has to be going somewhere. Unless of course, he's lying and the disk isn't full. Then this whole conversation doesn't matter.

Well the game is going to be less than 50GB, some space is saved for formatting of discs, you know

Well not to sound rude, but my argument was simply that the game does not have to take up the whole disk (or as much of it as possible) to be good. Also, no where did I say the game would take up all 45GB just that the disk as a whole only had 45GB used. ;) Yeah I'm twisting it a bit. Also, would it really take up 5GB in any case? I heard (maybe in this thread?) that 360 DVD9s only have 7.2 GB to them because of 1.8GB of security and such.

But yeah... it doesn't really matter how much of the game is used for formatting and what is left for the game. I was merely pointing out that a disk does not have to be full to be good.

ARE you NUTS??? It`s a METAL GEAR SOLID. Every Metal Gear Solid game is a MASTERPIECE. Have you finished any MGS game?

@Stever89, So, FILLING all blu-ray DISC space is a BAD thing? or What is your point?? The game will be GREAT Not because it used whole 50GB, BUT because it`s made By Kojima, and it`s a Metal Gear Solid game. I must ask you same question, have you finished any MGS game? If not, why do you care?
And yes, the second part is just speculations, but the space has to be going somewhere.
But in any case, you prefer to think, that game filled with many GB of audio, rather GREAT INGAME STUFF, Right?

Crazzy, we need to stop doing this. It always ends with me winning.

I never said it was a bad thing! Jeez stop putting words into my mouth (like you always do). And why do I care? I don't. Read my thread above "Actually the question you need to ask is "why would anybody seriously care?" Quote that next time. And no, I've never played a MGS game. Nor a Mario (besides Galaxy now) game. Nor a Zelda, FF, GT, GTA (besides some messing around on a friends game, didn't even save it), KH, and half a dozen other games that people rave about on this site.

And I don't prefer to think anything (since I don't care either way, won't be getting the game). It's many other people in this thread that have brought up that, saying it's (the uncompressed audio) might be done that way to increase audio quality, though only 1% of the players might actually be able to notice. Actually, as of this writing, 1.8 million people have bought GHIII for the Wii which only had mono sound. And it's a music game for crying out loud! I doubt people really care that much about audio, so IF they are using uncompressed audio and IF it's taking up so much space, then it's not really all that smart of them.

IF they are putting a whole bunch of ingame stuff, then that's great.

Then why do you post in this thread? =)) You have some FACTS or what? =)) What the point.

It`s a Kojima, with every MGS game he pushes console to BEST experience at the time of game release. =)
You really shouldn`t worry about Kojima not being smart, Really. =))
