I don't want to argue the whole casual vs hardcore thing again ...

If Ubisoft and EA has already taken steps for a big franchise like AC or Star Wars: Battlefront respectively to be next gen only then Activision will likely follow suit with COD ...

Like I say, we'll see. I actually hope they do drop PS3/360 next year; at this point they feel like ageing, arthritic greyhounds still dragged out and made to limp down the track. It's time to move on.

That doesn't look that different lolll

I'd advise right-clicking and looking at the images in their full res. The differences are pretty noticeable.

Eh, it's better. Not like OH MY FREAKING GOD better though.

Quite frankly, this is COD at its best! It actually does look like a current gen game, this time:

*snip*

Subsurface scattering makes everything better ...

You betcha!

What I want most next is dynamic global illumination. I want something better than SSAO, light propagation volumes, radiosity, voxel cone tracing and even ray tracing

Path tracing can wait for next generation but I would ideally like to see photon mapping on the PS4 ...

We're reaching a plateau in graphics I think.

Well, I never described it as that, now did I? ;)

A generational leap is a generational leap, though. This is definitely that, when you look at both pics in their entirety.

Yeah, even blew them up full screen. It just seems like a Gamecube to Wii leap. There's more things on screen, rendered better, some better effects, ect. I knew that a lot of small things add up but it just still all kind of seems negligible. Both old and new versions of the game look good though.

You're right, definetely noticed the differences doing that.

GameCube to Wii? It's definitely greater than that. Look at the screens I posted, for example. Those would never have looked like that on either PS3 or 360. The pics I posted just kill off the notion, entirely!

It's more than GC-Wii, but those screens are cutscenes. Actual gameplay is more telling.

I agree close ups on faces will look much better, but that will be .00001 of the game.
