13.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles have been sold worldwide since launch last November, Sony has announced. 3.3 million of them were sold between July and September 2014.

In comparison, 800,000 PS3s and 700,000 PS Vitas, PSPs and PlayStation TVs were sold during the same three-month period.

Sony notes that it has also seen a "significant increase in network services revenue related to the introduction of the PS4", suggesting a surge in PS Plus subscribers or digital content downloads.

Microsoft has not updated its sales figures for Xbox One since April when it announced that the console had shipped 5 million units.

Nope, as many have said thee are shipped numbers not sold. Yh yh shipped will eventually mean sold in a month or so but lets not skew the readings here.

Eventho its shipped its still undertracked by atleast 500k you think there were over a million PS4s on shelfs Oct 1 after an amazing month with Destiny launch?!?!?!?!?!?!
