Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft's health revolution is here, starting with a $199 fitness tracker

Not trying to derail the topic or anything, but this honestly looks too much like Sony's Smartband Talk, both in terms of looks and functionality, except MS Band has a GPS and a normal screen (with a better interface), whereas Sony's Smartband is waterproof and it has an e-ink screen. Oh and battery wise, the Smartband should last 3-4 days, compared to the Band's (probably less than) 2 days.

Moar liek Microsoft BLAND, amirite?

So is it like an advanced wrist interface for the Bing Health & Fitness app? I use the app anyway and if I can use this to skip music tracks without taking my phone out of my pocket while I walk to work then yay.

I was originally excited with this announcement.

Then that excitement went out the window, this is a US only release, again.
Hopefully it doesn't turn into a Zune 2.0 where it never ends up in Australia, otherwise I shall go towards the Android ecosystem for my gadget fix.
